SHA Diploma Requirements with Regents Endorsement

A minimum of 28.25 credits is required. In order to receive a Sacred Heart Academy Diploma, a student must earn the number of credits indicated below from courses taken at Sacred Heart Academy, in addition to electives to bring total to a minimum of 28.25 credits.

  • Theology: 4 credits
  • *English: 4 credits
  • *Social Studies: 4 credits
  • Language other than English (French, Latin, Spanish): 3 credits
  • *Mathematics: 3 credits
  • *Science: 3 credits
  • Fine Arts: 3 credits
  • Physical Education/Dance: 2 credits (over 4 years)
  • Health: ½ credit
  • Computer: 1 ½ credits

*Regents Exam required.

Please note that in order to receive a New York State Advanced Regents Diploma, a student must complete and pass Integrated Algebra 2/Trigonometry, and meet all other Regents requirements.

Minimum Requirements for New York State Regents Diploma:

  • English: 4 credits
  • Social Studies: 4 credits
  • Mathematics: 3 credits
  • Science: 3 credits
  • The Arts: 1 credit
  • Second Languages: 1 credit
  • Health: ½ credit
  • Sequence + Electives: 3 ½ credits (4 ½ credits for an Advanced Diploma) including 1 ½ credits for Computer
  • Physical Education - 2 credits
  • Total minimum credits: 22

Regents exams, core credits and sequences are required by New York State Department of Education must be fulfilled by all students.
