Uniform Regulations

A student may not arrive at school with a uniform that is in disrepair. If student does so, a parent or guardian will be called to pick up the student and the student will be sent home.

Please make any repairs to any part of the uniform before the return to school. This includes torn/missing pockets, missing buttons on blazers and shirts, buttons/zippers on skirts, crushed/decorated shoes (if shoes are crushed or are in disrepair the student will be asked to buy a new pair), etc.

All students have a regulation uniform they are required to wear. The uniform includes a regulation skirt, blouse, tights and shoes. There are no variations to the uniform. The uniform must be clean and in good repair.

Blazers are part of the school uniform, maroon for the freshmen and sophomores; blue for juniors and seniors.

The uniform skirt must fit the students properly around the waist and should be buttoned and zippered, not folded over and the length to the knee. If the skirt is too short, please lengthen the skirt to the appropriate length or contact Marlou Uniform Company to order a new one before school begins.

Freshmen and sophomores have a plaid skirt (each year has a different pattern) of gray and maroon. Juniors and seniors have a plaid skirt (each year has a different pattern) of blue and gray.

Freshmen and sophomores must wear maroon tights, juniors and seniors must wear blue tights. School knee socks (through Marlou) may ONLY be worn from September 7th to October 15th and May 1st to June 22nd.

The school blouse is a white over blouse with no shirttails that is sold only at Marlou Uniform Company. Students may wear short or long sleeves. The sleeves of the blouses may not be rolled. From November 1st to April 1st, a plain white T-shirt may be worn under the uniform blouse. Marlou Uniform Company is located at 2115 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park. You may reach them at (516) 739-7100, if you need any uniform adjustments.

Flynn and O'Hara Uniform Company supply the official school shoes (no variation of the shoe is permitted) and tights. If you require a new pair, you may contact them at their nearest store at 3559 Merrick Road, Seaford at (516) 221-3006.

Visible piercings (including nose, face, and multiple ears) and body art (tattoos) are not permitted.

We reserve the right to require the student to modify hairstyle or hair color. Unnatural hair colors are not permitted. Students will be sent home the first day and may not return until the color is corrected. If you must ask, "Do you think this is O.K.", then it's probably not.

All information regarding school dress code, including those specifically not mentioned here, are in the student handbook found in the planner. Freshmen received this information in the February registration folder.
